It is the thursday before Memorial Day and the skies opened up with a driving rain. Not a warm, summer rain like you get in the rest of country, a cold winter rain.

I have decided that more than ever I need summer. I always look so forward to summer. Kyle will be a senior in the fall and Will a freshman in high school and I can honestly say I'm excited for them both.

So, I will take a break from my computer for the next few days...I know I'll cheat and have to see what my favorite bloggers are writing about but I will try and not write. I will observe.

Have a great long weekend everybody!

  1. I know what you mean about summer; I love it. This last week we had an unusual taste of it and it was amazing.
You have a big year coming up next year. My oldest was a senior when my middle was a freshman, beginnings and endings at the same time.
I think I'm taking the w/e off too. Enjoy!

  2. When the rain hit today I felt happy to be cozy in my office, and when a client was blocked by some road disaster, I found myself writing (while it rained) and I loved it, sensing that it will more than likely be that last real rain until next fall.

I laud you for taking a break. I plan to do so after my self-imposed year of daily blogging when we cross the solstice—when summer officially begins.

I think we're all finding our sense of how much to be in this space, and I look forward to right-sizing that as we go, keeping connections, deepening discourse, but not getting neurotic and compulsive about it (one can always try).

Hope the weekend feels like summer.

  3. Let me know how you do...without the computer/blogging thing...

    I'll pray for you.

    Have a wonderful holiday.

  4. Good luck with the break thing. I find it so hard to disconnect.

Summers are great. I love the abundance of ice cream to ward off the heat.

Have a great holiday weekend Terry!

  5. You need summer because you live in a place with a beautiful summer, Terry! It's about 100 degrees here now and going to be about 115, so I'm thinking I don't need summer so bad! Have a great holiday weekend.

  6. Hoping you enjoy your break. I've been fallow for almost a week and while I'm still not healed, at least I don't feel frantic. Hope your holiday weekend is full of relaxation and joy.
